Letter of Introduction

Dear Human Resources Professional:

I am looking forward to meeting with you to share my qualifications for working in your schools.  Performance recognition, student achievement, and family involvement are tenets of your growing community.  Working for with you is a fantastic opportunity for an educator of 16 years. I know your students will benefit from my skills as a professional educator.

Your district is an incredible community of learners eager to embrace the opportunities of a global workplace.  The students are creative, energetic, and aspiring scholars with a variety of interests.  The teachers and staff are dedicated and professional. Evidence includes a model curriculum emulated by districts across the state, the use of advanced technology by students, teachers and administrators, and relevant continuing professional development.  Businesses and stakeholders surrounding your schools continue to support students’ and educators’ efforts to serve the community, build enhanced learning facilities, and meet the ever changing demands of a global workforce.  It is this with professional culture I now wish to belong.

My career has included several roles as an educator.  I have been the PLC team leader for writing assessment and instruction in the middle school, the district journalism instructor, public relations assistant director, and mentor-trainer for new teachers.  I have worked in education for more than 20 years.  As a writing teacher, I have published writing online, and in print, including with the Missouri Writer’s Guild.  My students will also benefit from my experience as a product reviewer, blogger, and online community editor.

I have been actively involved in literacy education throughout my career.  I have used STARS, RTI screening and conferencing, and Accelerated Reading Programs to supplement instruction.  I have also volunteered in library, child care, church, community theater, GED and adult ESL programs.  I enjoy reading fantasy, fiction, and mysteries as well as popular periodicals.

It is the nature of my profession to be ever vigilant, always productive, and eternally improving of my craft as a teacher.  Being a community service professional, volunteer, Christian, and student have always demanded my ability to accept the challenges of an ever increasing demand for improved performance.

I look forward to answering the call and accepting the challenges which face our profession and future generations.  I am professional.  I am enthusiastic.  I am diligent.  I am brilliant.  I am confident you will find in me all the attributes you seek in a teacher. Please feel free to call me any time at 63’6-20’9-88’01 or 63’6 20’9-7’500.

Appreciatively,

Ma’tthew Mc’Cann
